Testimony: Jesus Provides
Let this just be a reminder that the Lord knows what you need before you need it. Recently the Lord has been reminding me of the fact that He is in control. In more way than one, God will provide.
God will provide spiritually
If you’re seeking something, struggling with something, anything—the Lord will provide your answer. He will meet you there and provide whatever you need whether it be a reminder of what he’s said or piece of truth that grounds you. I was struggling with one night and the Lord led me to the verse of the day on the You Version app— Psalms 40:1-2 which reads,
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”
In this He reminded me that He is available when I need help and that He has helped me in this same place before. He brought me out and set my feet on secure ground. It was so sweet of him to lead me here because unconsciously I was operating in the mindset of I’ve dealt with this before so I can’t ask God for help, or I shouldn’t. I should try to get myself back to security. It was such a relief, God reminding me that he was available and held no judgement or expectation for me to handle it without him. He will answer your cries, silent or spoken.
God will provide for the future
This week the Lord showed me that I’d been very worried and I didn’t even realize how much until he brought it to my attention.
My worry was showing up in this obsessive desire to make sure I was making every good decision I could do I didn’t miss God. I was stressed more often than not because I was so worried about making the right decision that I stopped living. I was falling into this cycle of paralysis because I wasn’t trusting the hand of God on my life. I stopped trusting God to carry me in whatever move I make, to be sovereign and trust in the wisdom that He has given me. I trusted more in myself than trusting that God was indeed, as He always has been, leading me.
The Lord gave me some profound pieces of wisdom that anchored my floating heart in this place.
If you’re doing everything you need to do today, then you will be where you need to be tomorrow. Be faithful with today, and the Lord will do the rest.
Philippians 1:6 (NIV ) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
The reminder that God is in control in tandem with Phil 1:6 worked to pull me back into the security that the Lord is over my life. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that He is always moving in us. There isn’t a moment when we aren’t growing or being changed. He promises to lead and guide us, so everyday I just trust him to do the work that He has promised to do. He is preparing each and every one of us, whether we feel it or not. He is faithful to provide your next step, what you need for wherever you’re going. He is in control and moving right now. You must only follow and seek first the kingdom of God, be faithful over what he has given you.
God provides your resources
Stewardship has been something I’ve been trying to commit to in all areas of my life, especially in my finances. I have been doing a really good job budgeting and planning ahead. Recently though, I had an incident where a bill turned out to be 5 times more than the original statement I had. I knew I didn’t have enough to accommodate for such a big surprise, as it was probably the busiest month I’ve had financially to date. I didn’t about it too hard, I filed it away for later. It was mid-week, so I didn’t have time to think it all through now. When I had some free time, I would evaluate my budget to see where I could make some changes. BUT Before I even had a chance to think of it again, my boss came up to me the next morning with good news. Turns out I qualified for a bonus that was two times that of which I needed to handle the excess bill! I was in awe, before I even could think of it—God had handled it!
On two other accounts that same week, God provided the time in my schedule to do what I needed to do. I needed to move some things around to be fully present in a few areas. I didn’t even have to ask, every person I had to speak to came to me. He already has it settled!
It makes me wonder, how many things do we worry about that God already has settled?
—
Let me encourage you to trust God, because He is faithful. A lot of these instances were unspoken, I didn’t even ask and yet He moved on my behalf, He went before me. He is going before you as well. Do not worry, be faithful with where you are, God will meet all your needs.
What ways has the Lord provided for you this week?
——
Lord Jesus, thank you so much for your kindness. Thank you for always reminding us of your presence and nearness. Lord you are an active God, you are intimately involved in each of our lives. You are not a bystander. Lord I pray this week we trust you and your sovereignty. We let go of all control and just walk with you day by day, moment by moment. Have your way in our lives! I pray that we would continue to see every way that you have provided for us and walk in peace and joy until the day of your return!
In Jesus Name, Amen!
